Tatiana Lisenko was the third daughter in a very wealthy family who owned a health and fitness company. Her older sisters were much more athletic the her, and it was clear that they would end up working for the family business, but Lisenko's skills lay in another direction. At a very young age she discovered that when things did not go her way, she could concentrate hard and the object of her concentration would get a nasty headache, sometimes even a migraine.

One day, a judge came to pay the Lisenko family a visit and the visiting judge, Judge Anderson, told her to leave the room while she discussed some things with her parents. Not liking this, she tried to give the judge a headache, not realizing that Judge Anderson is one of the Justice Department's strongest Psi-Judges. Judge Anderson saw the potential in the youngest Lisenko and took her from her family to begin training at the Academy of Law for a possible future as a Psi-Judge.

Cadet Lisenko's power grew as she went through the training and she gained a strong interest in science. Her mental abilities were constantly evolving, but it wasn't enough for her. In what little spare time she had, she experimented in the labs at the Academy trying to create new ways to enhance her abilities and help in the fight against lawlessness.

After 15 years of training, Tatiana graduated and become Judge Lisenko of Psi-Division. She couldn't get out of the habit of experimenting in the labs though, and continued to do so when not on duty. After a particularly grueling day, she should have gotten some rest, but instead stumbled down to the lab in Sector House. There were many other experiments laying around the lab as her fellow judges found time to come and work on them. Judge Lisenko was so tired that she accidentally bumped against one of the lab tables... seeing the experiment about to topple, she leapt to save it, but knocked over two other experiments. The resulting combination of gases and liquids filled the room with noxious fumes, and the last thing she heard before blacking out were the alarm sirens and the security measures locking down the lab.

After a week in a deep sleep, she finally awoke in the care of the Med-Squad, but she felt a little weird. She went for a walk to clear her head and started probing the strange feeling in her mind. She discovered that she had somehow absorbed a small amount of radiation, and it was contained within a pocket in her brain. With the right level of concentration, she was able to utilize this radiation to create noxious fumes around her, or to make another individual gag.

Nervous about accidentally hurting the citizens she had sworn to protect, Judge Lisenko requested permission to follow the expedition led by Judge Arabin so that she could learn to use her new abilities in a war zone. Permission was granted.
